LITTLE BLACK BOOK: LBB PRESENTS
Our friends at Little Black Book were making a new interview series called LBB presents.
They asked us to come up with a title sequence.
OBVIOUSLY we said yes.
STORY
The concept of LBB’s series is really interesting. Each episode covers a different company and the people behind it to get their take on creativity, the industry, and this strange moment we find ourselves in.
So this got us thinking.
We wanted to make something with the refinement of a TV title sequence. We also wanted to capture the themes of LBB presents, but perhaps in a symbolic or metaphorical way. We also needed to be quick — the whole sequence is just fifteen seconds.
So…
We crafted a concept in which the rich bounty of the creative industries is represented by vibrant elements in a ‘still-life painting’. Some are colourful, exotic, enticing. Others are darker. Navigating this strange landscape are tiny figurines representing the human workforce — directors, musicians, creatives etc. The idea was to create something that’s steeped in creative tradition but subverted by notes of unease.
Unlike a still-life painting this entire project was built in glorious CG.
We made this in our downtime, free of charge. (Including the music!)
